SMS & text message consent

Public reference for how we collect consent to send SMS. This page is reachable at https://respondyr.com/legal/sms-consent.

This policy applies to registered Respondyr platform users.

The public marketing site does not collect phone numbers or SMS consent. SMS consent is collected within the Respondyr platform when you add a phone number for review approval notifications.

Why we use SMS (and a carrier like Twilio)

Respondyr sends transactional, service-related text messages so business owners can act quickly when something needs a human decision. In particular, our product can hold responses to negative, sensitive, or otherwise complicated Google reviews until you approve them (an "approval gate"). We use SMS to notify you and, where applicable, send a secure link or instructions so you can review, edit, or approve before anything is posted publicly. That workflow is a core reason we use SMS—not for bulk marketing blasts.

We use industry-standard messaging providers (e.g. Twilio) as the infrastructure to deliver these messages reliably and in line with carrier and compliance rules.

How you opt in

You may agree to receive SMS messages from Respondyr when you add a mobile phone number within the Respondyr platform and check the SMS consent box. Consent is collected in-app, not on the public marketing site. Checking the SMS consent box is your affirmative consent for the purposes described here and in our Privacy Policy.

What we send

Messages are tied to your account and our service, for example:

  • Review approval requests — when a response is held for approval (often for negative or high-risk reviews), we may text you so you can approve, edit, or decline before posting.
  • Operational notices — onboarding, account or integration status, and similar service messages.

Message frequency depends on your review volume and settings; it is not a fixed daily marketing cadence. Standard message and data rates may apply.

How to opt out

You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message we send, or by emailing travis@respondyr.com from the address on file. After you opt out, we will not send further SMS unless you opt in again.

Respondyr is in private beta. Google Business Profile connection and full automation features roll out as onboarding opens; this consent applies to SMS we send in connection with our services, including human-in-the-loop approval for sensitive reviews as described above.
